Edge of Spider-Verse

Every Spider-Man... EVER.

Marvel has officially announced a new five-issue comic series called "Edge of Spider-Verse". It is about multiple parallel realities in the Spider-Man world. This even includes a world where Gwen Stacy is Spider-man! (Or in this case...-Woman).

There will be several different artists and writers working on this series, including My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way! MCR and Spider-Man fans, rejoice! If some of you didn't know, Gerard Way actually has a comic background. He first studied to be a comic artist before starting up MCR, and he also created the award winning Umbrella Academy series.

I can't believe we will have to wait until November to read this!!!

Which Spider-Man is your favorite? And how do you feel about Gwen taking on the Spider-role? Let me know in the comments!

Lot of 50 Spider-Man Comics!

A Web-Slinging Good Time

Today I finally got the package I was patiently waiting two weeks for! (I'd like to think I was patient, anyway). A seller on Ebay called Porky's Comics was offering a great deal- a lot of 50 random Spider-Man comics for a little over $30! Porky's Comics is a top-rated plus seller, with great credibility. The package arrived in good shape, with thought put into packaging the comics to make sure they would survive their journey! The store is constantly offering this deal with other comic characters' series (Batman and Superman for example) along with Spider-Man.

So many Spider-Man activities- Just a portion of the 50-comic package.

What was so fun about ordering this package was the fact that it is a random lot. The comics were any Spider-Man related comic, which gave me comics from multiple different series. The fact that I had no idea what I would get made opening the package such a thrill! I got multiple issues from these series: The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, The Web of Spider-Man, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-man, Spider-Man, Spider-Man and the Black Cat, Marvel Tales Starring Spider-Man, Spider-Man Adventures, Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited, Marvel Team-Up, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Spider-Man's Tangled Web, and a spin off comic, The Prowler. (Phew! That was a keyboard full!) Minus coming across a few that I already had, the variety totally made up for it, especially one thing that I found...

Just like my find at House of Secrets in my previous post, I came across an awesome collectable gem.  In Spider-Man issue 46, not only is it a shiny, silver cover, it also contained a surprise inside!

Gotta love the cheesy promotional pamphlet it came in...

....There is a promotional animation cell for the Spider-Man cartoon series!!!

So, if you're looking to get started on a comic book collection, this deal is one not to pass up!

Happy comic hunting!

X-Men Blu-ray Collection!

An X-cellent Deal!

On Friday I stopped into my local Best Buy and found a deal that is essential for any X-Men fan! Surprise- I'm not just a Spider-Man fan! For only $19.99 you can get the X-Men Experience Collection, a four disc collection that includes X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and the most recent installment in the series, X-Men: First Class.

In addition to the movies, the collection comes with a set of character cards, as well as $8 toward seeing X-Men: Days of Future Past which comes out on May 23rd.

This is all part of a series of deals to get people excited about the new film, which the retailer is also doing with the Spider-Man movies. All of the Spider-Man movies come with movie money to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which is currently in theaters (and excellent! I will be posting a review on it very soon). All of the X-Men movies also have the movie money included.

What was your favorite X-Men movie? (I loved First Class!) Let me know in the comments!

House Of Spider-Man

Some Amazing Spider-Man finds at House of Secrets!

Yesterday, I stopped by the comic book shop House Of Secrets in Burbank to pick up some more Amazing Spider-man comics to add to my growing collection. Here's what I scored:

The Amazing Spider-Man issues #478, #481, #505, #604, #605, and #619, as well as The Amazing Spider-Man annual #37

I was thrilled with the selection they had, as well as the great prices. The most exciting part about this trip however, was a small, but incredible surprise!

On issue #505, "Vibes", there's a signature. It's not just anyone's signature either- It's John Romita Jr.'s signature (reading JRJR '04)- A Marvel staple and the artist who worked on The Amazing Spider-man comic series from 1980-2009. To learn more about him, visit this wikipedia page. Also, for a complete list of Marvel titles he has worked on, check out Marvel.com.

As an artist myself, I am so excited to be able to have a real signature directly from the artist!!! I will definitely be back to House of Secrets very soon to see what other hidden gems I can find!

Make sure to check out House of Secret's website as well as follow their Facebook page to stay up to date on the latest! House of Secrets was my childhood comic store, and they're still just as great as ever! It's always a wonderful experience going there, the staff is very knowledgeable and really fun to talk to, they're amazing people! You can't beat their selection either, especially how many back issues they carry. If you're craving a good comic- you have to check them out!
